Membership/Meetings

The Club is open to all women who wish to serve the Delray Beach Community through volunteerism.  Member meetings* are held once each month from October through May at the Teen Center located at 505 SE Fifth Avenue.  You can’t miss the sign.  Parking is free. Business meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, except for October when that meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday of month.   Currently, the Club does not meet during the summer months of June-September. Meetings are held mid-morning and are usually followed by lunch at a local eatery.   Many club members attend the luncheon as it offers a time to chat and socialize with friends.

The design of the meeting is business in nature with a review of committee reports and a discussion of upcoming events. The program is usually presented  and topics can range from yoga to arts & crafts to a short talk from a local business executive or safety tips for women presented by a police officer, to name but a few.

At a meeting in March 2022, sunflowers representing the invasion of Ukraine were distributed by President Patrick to members who attended.

At the October 2019 meeting. newly appointed Chief Javaro Sims of the Delray Beach Police Department spoke about his motto, “One Delray, One Community, One Police Department.”

The GFWC Woman’s Club offers women the opportunity to grow in leadership through participation in the LEADS program, committee membership, and election to office.  Many choose to attend other GFWC community/district meetings and/or state and national conferences.

The Club offers the opportunity to socialize should you choose to attend club-sponsored events — i.e., a play at the Delray Beach Playhouse or visit to exhibit of “Downtown Abbey” in West Palm Beach.

Dues are $40 annually.
